Tathakar (remember) story:

Image
This beautiful ballad of romantic patriotic melody was formed in just one night! When Kadim was invited to a concert in Dubai, his country was in the beginning of the sanction against Iraq! No radio channels were allowed to flow outside the country to hear the voice of the people inside. No help to the children to have their medical and food supplies, and they were dying in big numbers. So Kadim asked Karim El-Iraqi to write a song about peace, about the children dying and about their pain. In a couple of hours it was written, he delivered the lyrics by 3 am to Kadim, who sat and composed the music and finished when the light of day was out! And they went and he sang it, and all cried! It still brings tears to the eyes every time he sings it live! The hosting country sent two ships with food and medical supplies to the children of Iraq, the radio waves to the Iraqi people was opened in the stratosphere, the country was heard even in a minimal level, and the sanction was broken i...

On Love (English song)

Image
This is the only pure English song that Kadim sang alone as a solo singer, he also composed the music. He sang it on MBC program, The Voice! The lyrics are by the famous and eminent  Lebanese poet (Gibran Khalil Gibran). It reminds you of the classic symphony music and its words are thought provoking  masterpiece! In summary a complete revolutionary song for an Arabic singer! I wish there were more! On Love (English song)

Ikhtary (You choose) story:

Image
This is the first complete song Kadim composed musically for Nizar, and the first he played in public as a poem-song! He composed the song as a challenge while in college! He was about to get expelled from school because the Dean heard that Kadim has composed a song that has no merit in his own opinion- the professor of classic Iraqi music- and it will be a shame for all the college that the students are composing such common light unworthy pop songs! It was "Abart Elshat- I have passed to the other shore" that made this problem! One of the teachers knew about Kadim's Talent and about the impending expulsion and it was his last college year, so it would have been a great loss for him as a student! So he suggested that Kadim hurriedly compose a poem in the classical form of music and sing in the yearly college concert , where the minister will attend also! So Kadim composed it in a short time, and at the day of the concert he was on stage, the Dean was about to stop him, b...

Zeideny eshquaa (Fill me with love) story:

Image
Kadim composed this song musically, before even getting the rights of the words from the poet “Nizar Quabany”. He just fell in love with the words when he was sixteen and composed the music of the first part; he played it in front of one who loves old music but got bad response, thus forgot all about it for years!! Years later when he met Nizar, he surprised him with the tunes on his oud! And Nizar hated the song because he felt it a dancing tune not befitted for a poem! This song was his break to the Arabic poems, he changed the face of composing for formal poems as we know it, by making Arabic poems appear like light dancing lovely tunes! So, it is the most known and the most sung in all his concerts, he even doesn’t have to sing it anymore, just play the music, and all the audience will sing in choral manner! The music has a dancing tune that sticks to the mind, and you may have trouble with that!   Here is the song with the English subtitles! Enjoyyyyyyy! ...

Fi Madarast el hob (in the school of love) story:

Image
Again Kadim composed this song musically, before even getting the rights of the words from the poet “Nizar Quabany”. He was composing it after graduating from college, while in the army!  War was everywhere! He said he used to put the sheets of the music in one room and sleep in another, so if he were killed his music would live! And after the danger was over, he got a tattoo to remind him of his struggle in composing this song! The tattoo is a music tune from the song on his chest!   This song is the second favorite song to Nizar the poet!  The music is classic with many transitions and operatic parts! It carries deep sensation of sadness, love and loss in one amalgamated scene! and Kazim voice is magical in getting you in the "cities of sadness"! His feelings are beyond description! and the conclusion of the song is like a disillusion from love!   Here is the song with the English subtitles! Enjoyyyyyyy! Ana Wa Lyla (Me and Lyla) story:

Image
This song was chosen by the BBC audience as the sixth best song ever in the history of the world! It is the jewel of every concert Kadim sings! It all started when Kadim read those great poetry lines that have no known author! Every time he asks he finds one claiming the poem to be his, with a different set of lines, he did not want to sing those incomplete and non-copyrighted lines or his work might be lost or banned. So, he waited……and searched for the true poet behind those beautiful words, and sad heartbreaking story. And after six years of searching, it turned out to be an unknown Arabic teacher living in Lybia by the name of Hassan El-Marawan! He proved to be the true author; he had a video reciting the poem while graduating from college, the whole poem not just parts of it!  Turned out the whole poem is 355 lines poem! He loved a girl by the name of Lyla, and she simply dumped him for another one with more money and this broke his heart! It was Hassan’s only poem...
