Kadim Al Sahir

Kadim Al Sahir is an Iraqui singer, titled as the Caesar of Arabic songs and is considered the number one legend in the Arabic World Worldwide. He is considered the third branch of the Iraqui rivers after the "Degla" and the "Furat" in his own country!

Kadim's voice is operatic with tenor capabilities, however the operatic singing is not common or preferred in the Arabic singing history, he could also extend his voice to the soprano or counter tenor level. This broad range enabled him to compose and sing his own music with uniqueness that reached the whole world.
His music depends on Iraqui "Makamat" , as he studied music in college,   he specialized in Oud (an Arabic instrument that may look like the guitar but more complicated. However, ironically his childhood dream was to be a professional piano player and composer!

Although he became famous before singing "Quasaed" or Formal Arabic poems, he became known and adored for them. His first collaboration was with a romantic poet "Nizar Quabany", who revolutionized the romantic poetry in the region, and has a lot of books or "Diwans".

Kadim also writes some of his songs, moslty in Iraqui slang but some in formal Arabic poetry, as his song called "life" or "Alhayat".
